Dental Floss – Georganics

It took me quite a long time to find a zero waste dental floss, and to be honest it wasn’t something I initially considered as an issue – but with traditional floss made of plastic and coming in plastic containers, this was something I had to change.
I eventually stumbled across Georganics floss ( – they make other products but I haven’t tried them out yet.

I purchased mine from ‘Bliss-a journey to zero waste’ at Tiverton market, but you can also buy it online. This floss fits the bill perfectly, and I haven’t been disappointed. They make a natural floss from bamboo or silk, which comes in a glass bottle with a metal lid and at 30 meters is sure to last a while. Sustainably grown and PETE cruelty free. The floss itself is very attractive and looks nice on your bathroom shelf. The floss itself has cleaned my teeth really well, just as well as its wasteful counterparts, and the peppermint flavour (it also comes in cardamon) left my teeth feeling fresh. I love that my teeth can keep healthy without damaging the world we live in. I will definitely be purchasing more.

I am a married working mum, living in Devon, and this blog is born out of my desire to be more mindful about how I live and the unnecessary plastic I (and we all) use. I have become more and more aware of waste, particularly plastic waste and its impact on our health, our lives and our planet and I am committed to leaving the world a little better than I found it.

I am on a mission to phase out the disposable plastic I use and replace it with practical, sustainable and cost-effective alternatives. Zero waste is the ultimate goal but I am going to take this one step at a time and I hope that by changing my lifestyle, I can reduce waste, ultimately save money and positively impact the earth. I hope to challenge companies on their use of plastic as well as their environmental plans for the future and I am happy to try products and report my thoughts and findings. I am just starting out so I am learning all the time so don’t hesitate to get in touch with your thoughts, experiences or suggestions, I’d love to hear from you. I hope others will follow suit as together we can make a real impact. Thank you for taking the time to visit this blog.
