There is no nicer feeling after a hard days work than soaking in a hot mineral bath. There are any number of commercially available bath salts that are touted to do wonders for your skin and vital bodily functions. Most bath salts can be quite expensive, though, and if you make a habit of taking mineral baths they can be prohibitively costly. Instead, save some money and make your own Epsom salts.
Boil 1/2 cup of water.
Mix in the magnesium sulfate in a 1:2 ratio with the boiled water in a bowl or dish. As you grow in proficiency you could make greater amounts but begin by using ¼ cup of magnesium sulfate and a ½ cup of water.
Add food coloring to the mixture, if desired.
Leave the solution to grow the Epsom salt crystals. Pour the solution into a shallow container and place it in a sunny location where it can evaporate.
Collect the crystals after the water has evaporated and the crystals have dried.
Don’t eat the Epsom salt. Always use caution with boiling water.
